Introducing LWBites: bite-sized excerpts from the Life With Brother series that offer an accessible introduction to the series. LWBites will be a collection of some of the best scenes from the LWB series run.
The summer days are coming to an end as Joe continues in his wild antics with Hubert before their freshman year of college and their first steps into adulthood. Billy, still stuck at his dead end job at Walmart, struggles to find some stability in his life at home—an impossibility since his insane grandfather, Grand Puh Pah, has moved in with the boys. It’s a time of hardship, celebration, and, ultimately, growing up in this the twelfth and final episode of Life With Brother!
Stay tuned after the closing credits for an exclusive teaser for Andrew T.S. Bedgood’s next webseries: “Players.”
First thing’s first: I’ve finished editing the final episode of Life With Brother. It’s a series of mixed feelings with this finale as I’m relieved to finally have it finished, but there’s also a bit of this strange emptiness knowing that the series is actually done now. Watching through the entire episode, there’s a certain finality that cements the point that the series is over and it’s a bit saddening for me.
With the final episode finished, I can finally start working on touching up the actual film from which the episodes come. As I’ve stated before, Life With Brother: The Series Finale is a feature-length film that Casey and I decided to break up into episodes—the final part of that film is the twelfth and final episode of LWB. I plan on having a DVD of the full film and special features available summer 2013 (the long wait primarily due to my next webseries, “Players,” taking up a great deal of my time).
On the topic of “Players,” I’m behind where I would like to be regarding scriptwriting, so that’s going to be my primary focus for the next several weeks. What this means is that the next part of my serialized story, Freefall, will be put off for a while as I work on catching up on my scripts. I’m not forgetting about Freefall; it’s still very important to me to finish the story of Tom Larsson, but I have to get “Players” ready for filming this fall. I do have the next part of Freefall completely outlined with a synopsis written for when I can set aside the time to finish the next part. I’m excited to continue Tom’s surreal journey and drawing closer to the exciting conclusion. Believe me, Freefall is an important piece of work for me and I will not abandon it without resolving the story in the manner I had originally intended.
That’s pretty much all that’s going on with me. LWB is done and I’m prepping the final episode for release in August and moving on to developing the DVD, “Players” is my current primary concern, Freefall is going to be on break for a little bit as I try to catch up on “Players,” but I’m totally not forgetting about it.
I’ve done it! I’ve finished the script for the first episode of my next webseries and I couldn’t be happier about it. I have seven episodes planned for the first series, so I’m far from finished. Filming is set to begin in late August/early September and I want to have the majority of the episodes written before filming starts to create ease in the production and development of the series.
With the first episode written and the creative process begun on the second episode, I feel comfortable sharing more on my upcoming series. The series, which is titled “Players,” follows the production of a play at a community college located somewhere in Lower Michigan. Set up as a mockumentary filmed by a four-year film student at the fictional college, “Players” will feature the largest cast I have ever worked with thus far. For more information on “Players,” visit the “Players” Wiki, which, aside from just being informational regarding the series, also serves as the “Players” expanded universe. The Wiki will be updated as new and relevant material becomes available.
I’m excited to begin filming and to move onto something new. ”Players” will be the biggest project I have ever worked on and I have some exiting promotional stuff planned: a good friend of mine is working on a promotional poster which will also be used as a cover for a Playbill-esque promotional pamphlet. In addition to this, there will be a teaser for “Players” following the next and final episode of Life With Brother which will be uploaded in August. Stay tuned for more information regarding “Players” or any of my other works/projects.

The headline pretty much sums it up… but, if you want more, I actually wrote a post:
I’ve finished writing Freefall: Part 5 and I plan on posting it online soon. At just over 1,000 words, it’s a little longer than previous parts because I don’t have the constraints I had when writing the previous parts (since I’m not writing these for The Bay Beacon anymore). Part 5 is more about the character of Tom than his problems sleeping, so don’t be expecting anything too wild in this next installment. I’m planning on finishing Part 6 before I post Part 5, though, so there’s not as long of a wait between the two as between 4 and 5. Part 6 will bring back some of the dreamworld stuff, so don’t be put off if you find Part 5 to be a little slow—though, I assure you, Part 5 is entirely necessary.
I know it shouldn’t take me as long as it does to write these short story bits, but I’m busily working away on what feels like a million other projects (more realistically, it’s 3 other projects…), so I’m not able to devote 100% of my time on finishing Freefall. I’m working on 7 scripts for my next series, finishing the series finale of LWB (more on that in the next paragraph), and brainstorming with Casey to find out where we’re going to go after LWB concludes—we’re hoping to do something other than film for our next project. So, yeah, I’m a little busy.
It’s the next paragraph, so I guess it’s time for some LWB news. The penultimate episode of LWB is now online! You can check that at here: hyperlinked! So, the finale is close… very close… but, I’m taking next month to finish up some work, so the final, extended episode of LWB will be out in August. Casey and I have put a lot of work into the LWB series over the years and this final episode is no exception. The final episode will be the biggest and best episode of LWB of all. This is our last hurrah as these characters—characters we’ve spent the last 5+ years developing and portraying, and it was our goal from the beginning to send them off in a blaze of glory. We’re proud of the work we’ve done on our under-appreciated comedy gem and we’re hoping you’ll check out the final episode when it’s uploaded this August (we’d like you to check out the other episodes, too… we really wouldn’t mind the views).
That’s about all I have. I lead a dull and uninteresting life. I’m going to finish drinking my green tea, mow the lawn, then go for a jog. Anything else you want to know?
The SpaceMen’s perilous journey to the negotiations between the kings of Zor and Zam take an unexpected turn when the truth of where they landed is revealed. Will they be able to make it to the negotiations in time? Find out in this exciting episode of Life With Brother.
Alright, so, despite my being lazy, I do have quite a bit on my modestly sized plate—I’m working on finishing up the LWB finale, I’m slowly getting around to finishing up Freefall, and I’m busily working on pre-production stuff for my next big project (which I will talk about very briefly here in a little bit). I think I’ve got my fill of the summer lazies and, now that the weather in Northern Michigan is summery, am ready to actually start working on my many projects—so, it won’t be much longer for you to see that I actually do sometimes do stuff.
LWB: The next episode of LWB contains some green screening and that is always time consuming and tedious work, especially with my crappy camera and limited resources. My computer overheated yesterday while I was working on a scene and that set me back quite a bit, but I will hopefully recover quickly when I get back over to my workstation later today.
Freefall: I have an outline and idea for what happens in the next part (and I do have the whole story outlined), but I haven’t forced myself to actually sit down and write it. I apologize, but sometimes that just happens when you’re lazy.
My next project: I’m working on a script for the first episode and currently have a multi-episode outline worked out. Several of my close friends and colleagues are excited to begin work on this new project and we hope to begin filming this fall. This next series will be my first film project since Life With Brother: The Series Finale and it will be bigger than the saga of the two brothers in every sense. With a cast of eight people currently committed to the project, it’s exciting for me to move onto something of this scale. Stay tuned, I hope to have more information available to you in the coming weeks!
I realize I promised that part five of Freefall would come this week a few posts back, but I haven’t been able to get it ready just yet because I’ve been busy. Okay… I’m lying… E3 was this week and, despite it being all sorts of “meh” (save for a few surprises), it kept me occupied for a while… also, I started playing Skyrim again. I swear, I’ll get on it very soon, though. On the plus side, since I’m not writing it for the Bay Beacon, I don’t have any length restrictions, so I can go wild with this next part!
In addition to Freefall, I’m starting the long and tedious process of getting the next episode of Life With Brother ready for the internet and stuff. Expect to see that sometime around the 20th. I’m hoping, but not promising, to get all of the finale episodes finished before the end of July so the finale finale can be an extended episode that will debut in August or September… around which time I’ll be able to start working on the DVD (which is going to be awesome, in my own biased opinion).
Third and lastly, I’m working on something new that I can’t really say much about because I don’t actually know if it’ll go anywhere… but I’m working on it. Since LWB is going to be done and done this year, I need to start working on other things… so, that’s what I’m doing. I’ve got some high hopes for this project, so I’m really hoping it makes it past the script and actually onto the screen. If it doesn’t, I’ll share some of the sweetness of it with you all just so you can tell me if it was a good idea or dumb to begin with and I wasted my time actually writing it, lol.
Anyway, thanks for putting up with me and my laziness… I’ll post something worthwhile here shortly.
The next part in the Life With Brother finale sees Billy trying to step up his game with the girl at the coffee shop. Meanwhile, Grand Puh Pah tries to find Grand Muh Mah’s replacement somewhere in Northern Michigan.
